Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 — Sanofi India Limited, a leading R&D-driven and AI-powered biopharmaceutical company, has announced the appointment of Deepak Arora as its new Managing Director, marking a significant leadership addition to the company’s executive team. In this strategic role, Deepak will drive Sanofi India’s vision to align with global priorities, emphasizing innovation, patient access, and sustainable healthcare solutions across the Indian market.

With over 30 years of international experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, Deepak brings a strong record of leadership in strategic marketing, business transformation, and operational excellence. His appointment reinforces Sanofi’s mission of improving lives through science-led healthcare and its commitment to expanding patient impact in India.

Before joining Sanofi India, Deepak served as Country President – African Cluster at AstraZeneca, where he led business transformation and accelerated commercial growth across several markets in Africa and the Middle East. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in aligning business operations with global strategic goals while building high-performing teams across geographies.

Prior to AstraZeneca, Deepak spent nearly a decade at Eli Lilly and Company, where he held multiple senior leadership roles including Director, Diabetes Business Unit, and Sales Director – Specialty & Diabetes, overseeing key therapeutic portfolios such as oncology, endocrinology, cardiology, and critical care. His earlier experience at Eli Lilly’s global headquarters in the U.S. as Senior International Marketing Associate provided him with deep global exposure and earned him the Global Marketing Award and Excellence Award in 2008.

Deepak also worked with Novartis as Global Associate Brand Director in Basel, Switzerland, leading international product launches and portfolio strategies in cardiovascular and women’s health segments. His diverse global experience across AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, and Novartis reflects his deep understanding of both emerging and developed markets.

A graduate of Indira Gandhi National Open University, Deepak is known for his visionary leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic agility. His appointment reflects Sanofi India’s commitment to fostering patient-centric growth, driving operational agility, and building a stronger, future-ready healthcare ecosystem in India.
