Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Texas, United States, September 2024 – Sally Beauty, the world’s largest distributor of professional beauty supplies, has announced the appointment of Desiree Christopher as Vice President, Field Human Resources. In her new role, Desiree will oversee human resources operations for Sally Beauty and Beauty Systems Group’s stores and supply chain teams, bringing her extensive experience in HR leadership to support the company’s growing workforce.
Before joining Sally Beauty, Desiree held the position of Head of HR for Field, Veterinarian Services, Store Operations & Loss Prevention at Petco, where she led HR operations for over 1,400 stores and 250 vet hospitals, supporting a workforce of more than 27,000 employees. In this role, she was the primary HRBP for the Chief Operating Officer, guiding a team of 14 HR professionals with four director-level reports.
Prior to Petco, Desiree served as Senior HR Manager for Bath & Body Works, where she provided HR support for the Eastern United States, covering over 723 stores. She led a team of HR generalists and played a crucial role in regional and national strategies related to performance management, leadership development, and retention.
Her earlier career includes a role at Victoria’s Secret, where she supported HR initiatives for the Midwest/Great Lakes region, which encompassed over 5,000 associates across 216 stores. She was a key advisor for store leadership teams and led efforts in talent acquisition, culture shaping, and leadership development.
