Gurugram, Haryana, India, November 2025 — Axis Max Life Insurance Limited has announced the appointment of Dipesh Desai as Executive Vice President & Head of Agency – Growth Channels, marking a strategic leadership addition to its distribution and channel growth ecosystem. In his new role, Dipesh will lead agency expansion, productivity enhancement, and strategic growth initiatives across key markets, driving deeper market penetration and strengthening Axis Max Life’s nationwide distribution footprint.
With more than two decades of experience in India’s life insurance industry, Dipesh brings deep expertise in sales leadership, distribution strategy, P&L management, and multi-channel growth. His leadership will focus on elevating agency performance, enhancing field productivity, and building high-performing teams aligned with the company’s long-term vision for sustainable growth.
Prior to joining Axis Max Life, Dipesh served as Executive Vice President & Head – Growth Markets, Defence & Channel Strategy at HDFC Life, where he led large-scale distribution initiatives and strategic channel development. Over his six-year tenure with the company, he successfully expanded HDFC Life’s agency network, implemented high-impact channel productivity programs, and drove nationwide sales transformation.
Before HDFC Life, Dipesh held key senior leadership positions at DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance, where he served as Vice President & Head of Agency, Pioneer Channel & Women’s Channel, leading multiple distribution innovations and segment-focused expansion strategies. Earlier, as National Sales Head at Amsure Insurance (a JV between Amway India and Hollard Insurance), he spearheaded the launch of new verticals across health and motor insurance, achieving remarkable success in scaling nationwide reach and digital adoption across 70+ locations.
His earlier career at Tata AIA Life Insurance saw him rise to Associate Vice President & Region Head – North, where he played a pivotal role in scaling agency distribution across North India, building multiple high-growth branches, and institutionalizing sales excellence practices aligned with AIA’s global benchmarks. Dipesh began his professional journey with GE Capital, where he managed auto loan portfolios and regional business expansion across Eastern India.
An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Management (XIM Bhubaneswar), Dipesh holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing, graduating in the top 20% of his class. He is also a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (LOMA, USA) and holds a certification in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School Online, underscoring his commitment to continuous learning and leadership excellence.
In his new leadership role, Dipesh will steer Axis Max Life’s agency-led growth transformation, focusing on building capacity, enhancing distribution capabilities, and leveraging digital enablement to create scalable, future-ready channels across India.
