Hamburg, Germany, February 2026 — Otto Group has announced the appointment of Dr. Philipp Andrée to its Executive Board, effective 1 April 2026. Dr. Andrée, previously Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the Douglas Group, will succeed Sergio Bucher as Executive Board member for Brands and Retail. Bucher will retire from the Executive Board and continue to contribute his expertise as a member of the Otto Group’s Supervisory Board.
The appointment marks a strategic leadership transition as Otto Group strengthens its brands, retail portfolio, and omnichannel growth agenda. Dr. Philipp Andrée is widely regarded as a highly respected industry expert, bringing extensive international expertise in digitalization, marketing, and strategic corporate development across successful e-commerce and omnichannel retail ecosystems.

Otto Group also acknowledged the contribution of the outgoing board member. Sergio Bucher, an internationally renowned business executive with wide-ranging experience in global retail and brand management, has been a member of the Otto Group Executive Board since 1 February 2020. Prof. Dr. Michael Otto, current Chair of the Foundation and Shareholders’ Council and Honorary Chair of the Supervisory Board, stated: “Over the past six years, Sergio Bucher has drawn on his international expertise, his keen eye for detail, and immense passion to strengthen and sustainably advance the Otto Group. Prior to joining the Otto Group Executive Board, Dr. Philipp Andrée spent close to three years at Douglas Group, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and earlier as CDO Douglas Group, playing a key role in strengthening commercial and digital leadership in the beauty retail sector.
Before Douglas, he held a long-term leadership journey of nearly eight years with Tchibo, including serving as Member of the Executive Board Digital & Marketing (Geschäftsführer). He also led strategic roles spanning Director Marketing & Online Sales, Director Online Sales, and Head of Online Expansion, contributing to scaled digital growth and omnichannel execution.
Dr. Andrée also served for nearly two years as Managing Director (Geschäftsführer) at Department47 GmbH (Pro7Sat1) und ISA GmbH, strengthening his experience in digital business building and strategic execution.
Earlier in his career, he spent over five years at McKinsey & Company as Consultant / Engagement Manager, building a strong foundation in strategy, transformation, performance improvement, and business model scaling.
