Pune, Maharashtra, India, August 2025 – Dr. Ujjal Bhattacharjee has taken on the role of Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Biorad Medisys Pvt Ltd, a leading global specialty manufacturer of implants and surgical devices. In his new position, Dr. Bhattacharjee will be responsible for shaping the organization’s people strategy, fostering a culture of excellence, and aligning HR initiatives with the company’s ambitious growth plans in the healthcare manufacturing sector.
Dr. Bhattacharjee brings with him a distinguished career spanning over two decades in human resources and leadership roles across manufacturing and industrial sectors. Most recently, he served for nearly six years at Vesuvius, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Human Resources Director Foundry India & Southeast Asia, and board-level positions such as Director, Vesuvius IT & Shared Services Pvt. Ltd., Director, Foseco International (Thailand) Ltd., and President Commissioner, PT. Foseco Indonesia. His tenure at Vesuvius was marked by regional HR leadership across multiple geographies, driving talent strategies, cultural transformation, and operational excellence.
Prior to Vesuvius, Dr. Bhattacharjee spent nine years at GKN plc, where he served as Managing Director, VP India Operations & HR Director, HR Director India & South Africa, and HR Director India. In these capacities, he played a critical role in integrating people and business strategies, enhancing workforce capabilities, and steering HR transformation projects across global markets.
Earlier in his career, he held the position of Vice President – Human Resources India at Fresenius Kabi, where he contributed to strengthening HR frameworks, talent management systems, and employee engagement initiatives in the pharmaceutical and healthcare domain.
Dr. Bhattacharjee holds a Master of Personnel Management from Savitribai Phule Pune University. His appointment at Biorad Medisys marks a significant step in advancing the company’s mission to put India on the global map for high-quality, indigenously developed medical devices.
