(Nasdaq: EBAY), a leader in global commerce that connects millions of buyers and sellers worldwide, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Samantha Wellington as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, and Secretary, effective October, 2024. Samantha will be responsible for overseeing all global legal aspects of eBay, including Government Relations, intellectual property, employment, litigation, regulatory, and corporate matters across financial services, marketplaces, and product and technology organizations. She will report directly to Jamie Iannone, CEO of eBay.
Samantha Wellington joins eBay with an impressive track record, most recently as TriNet’s Executive Vice President of Business Affairs, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary, where she led a broad range of functions from Legal and Compliance to Customer Service and Sales. Before TriNet, Samantha spent over a decade at Oracle, holding several senior legal roles.

Samantha holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Creative Arts and Laws from Wollongong University, and a Master of Laws in Communication and Technology Law from the University of New South Wales. She has also served on the boards of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations and BSA, The Software Alliance.
She steps into the role following Marie Oh Huber, who served as General Counsel for nine years before departing in June.
