Seattle, Washington, United States, September 2024 – Deenie E. has been appointed as the Chief of Staff – People and Culture at Sound Transit. In this capacity, Deenie will lead key people initiatives and drive efforts to foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture, supporting Sound Transit’s mission of transforming regional transit for the Puget Sound area.
Deenie’s most recent role was as Director – HR Operations at Sound Transit, a position she held for approximately 2 years. During this tenure, she was pivotal in overseeing HR processes, driving improvements across the organization, and enhancing employee experience through optimized systems and policies.
Prior to this, Deenie served as Deputy Director – Training at Sound Transit for less than a year, where she managed training initiatives that helped employees align with organizational growth goals. Her efforts in fostering team development were highly impactful.
Earlier in her career, Deenie worked as the Agency-wide Training Manager at Sound Transit for nearly 3 years, where she designed and implemented comprehensive training programs across the agency. Her focus was on aligning training outcomes with the agency’s strategic direction.
Before joining Sound Transit, Deenie worked at Archbright as the Director of Learning and Development for approximately 2 years, where she led the development of high-impact learning programs, fostering talent development and organizational performance.
In previous roles, Deenie held various leadership positions, including at University of Washington, Blue Nile, and Starbucks. Across these roles, she was responsible for learning and development, training, and driving organizational change, which has contributed significantly to her HR leadership expertise.
