Memphis, Tennessee, United States, June 2025 – In a significant leadership announcement ahead of its planned spinoff, FedEx Freight has named Eddie Klank as Chief Human Resources and Legal Officer, bringing nearly three decades of FedEx experience to the soon-to-be-independent less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier.

The appointment was disclosed by FedEx Corporation CEO and President Raj Subramaniam during the company’s latest earnings call and subsequent investor presentation. Klank is one of several senior FedEx executives selected to help lead FedEx Freight as it transitions into a standalone company in 2026.

Klank currently serves as Corporate Vice President of Corporate Governance, Securities, and Tax Law at FedEx Corporation, where he has been a key legal advisor for nearly 15 years. Over his FedEx tenure, he has held progressive leadership roles including Corporate Vice President – Securities and Corporate Law, Staff Vice President – Securities and Corporate Law, and Staff Director – Corporate Development. His legal expertise spans governance, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, and securities law—critical areas for any company navigating a strategic separation and market entry as an independent entity.

Starting his FedEx career as an Attorney in 1998, Klank has worked across a spectrum of legal domains, steadily building a reputation for trusted leadership and strategic insight. His legal acumen, combined with a deep understanding of FedEx’s culture and operations, positions him strongly to shape the people and legal functions of FedEx Freight post-spinoff.

About FedEx Freight

FedEx Freight is the less-than-truckload (LTL) arm of FedEx Corporation, providing reliable and flexible LTL freight services with comprehensive coverage across the United States—including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands—as well as cross-border services in Canada and Mexico. With the planned spinoff set for 2026, FedEx Freight is poised to become a standalone leader in the LTL sector, continuing its legacy of precision, reliability, and service excellence.
