New York, New York, United States, April 2026 — Council Advisors has welcomed Elana Brickner as Chief People Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the firm continues to support CEOs, business leaders, corporations, investment firms, and non-profits in aligning talent with strategy and execution.
In her new role, Elana Brickner will lead the HR and people function across Council Advisors’ practices. She will partner with teams across the organization to strengthen talent strategies that support the firm’s next phase of growth.
Elana brings more than 20 years of experience in people strategy, human resources leadership, organizational development, executive advisory, compensation, benefits, and talent management. A three-time Chief People Officer, she has led people functions at high-growth companies and has worked across technology, fintech, media, mobility, e-commerce, and professional services.
Before joining Council Advisors, Elana was associated with Payoneer, where she served as Chief People Officer and later as an Advisor. In this role, she led HR at a global financial technology company and supported people strategy during a period of continued organizational growth and transformation.
Earlier, Elana spent more than five years with Lyft, where she held multiple senior people leadership roles. She served as Head of People Business Partners, Head of People for Rideshare and Transit, Bikes and Scooters, and Head of People for Transit, Bikes and Scooters, supporting key business segments and leading people strategy across high-growth mobility operations.
Prior to Lyft, Elana served as Head of People at Via – On-Demand Transit, where she created the vision and direction for talent management and development programs, including leadership development, training, employee engagement, and talent acquisition. She worked closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to transform the company’s people strategy and build a lean, high-performing People team.
Previously, Elana was Head of Human Resources at Boxed, where she led HR for a fast-growing, venture-backed e-commerce company. Her responsibilities included building people capabilities, developing leaders, shaping culture, advising senior leadership, strengthening HR programs, driving organizational development, designing performance management systems, and developing compensation and benefits frameworks.
Elana’s earlier career includes a long tenure at Viacom Inc., where she served as Vice President – Employment, Compensation & Benefits. In this role, she worked across employee relations, HR policies, executive compensation, employee benefits, and cross-functional leadership matters involving employees at all levels, including executive officers and the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. She also worked with Clifford Chance US LLP as an associate focused on benefits and executive compensation, advising on employment agreements, compensation plans, separation agreements, and HR-related mergers and acquisitions support.
Elana holds a JD from Georgetown Law and an MBA from The Wharton School, bringing a strong legal, business, and human capital foundation to her leadership role at Council Advisors.
