Greater Bengaluru Area , Karnataka ,India, April 2026 — Akshay Surve has joined Anthropic as an Applied AI Architect, marking a significant new chapter in his career across artificial intelligence, agentic systems, engineering leadership, product building, and technology entrepreneurship.
In his new role at Anthropic, Akshay Surve brings deep experience in building AI systems, scalable platforms, developer tools, automation-led workflows, and high-growth technology products. His recent work has focused strongly on agentic AI, multi-agent systems, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, AI evaluation, code execution environments, and workflow redesign.
Before joining Anthropic, Akshay was working independently as a Builder / AI Practitioner in a stealth capacity, where he explored how Agentic AI can empower operators, automate decision-making, and redesign workflows, including complete organizational structures from the ground up. During this phase, he built AskPrisma.ai, a multi-agent AI system for data analysis where planner, executor, and reviewer agents collaborate to answer business questions end-to-end using Python execution, RAG, and tool use. He also built AgCluster.dev, a self-hosted, open-source agent runtime and harness for Claude Agent SDK with MCP support, skills, container-isolated execution, and multi-agent workflows on owned infrastructure.
Prior to this, Akshay co-founded DeltaX, where he served as Co-founder and CTO for more than a decade. He played a key role in building the company from its early ad-tech ideas into a scaled platform trusted by clients and supporting more than $100 million in global ad spend. His journey at DeltaX reflected strong expertise in engineering leadership, product development, advertising technology, platform architecture, and scaling high-performing technology teams.
Earlier, Akshay worked as a Core Developer at ideeli, where he was part of the core engineering team in a hyper-growth environment. He contributed to foundational systems for a high-traffic e-commerce platform, supporting large-scale revenue, millions of members, and a distributed engineering setup. His work involved scalable and performant code using technologies such as Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TDD, Agile practices, cloud infrastructure, databases, messaging systems, and front-end technologies.
Akshay’s earlier career also includes his work as a Social Innovator at SocialSync, where he founded SocialSync.org to help organizations drive social change through online fundraising and resource networking. He also launched Ads4Good.org and contributed to OpenCivic, supporting civic participation through open standards and APIs for data accessibility in India. He began his professional journey at Pinstorm as a Lead Programmer, where he worked on SEM tools, keyword bidding, campaign tracking, trend analysis, algorithms, web scrapers, and business process automation.
