Ellen Gillis Appointed as Vice President, Global Talent Development and Engagement at Acquia

Boston, Massachusetts, United States, June 2025 – Ellen Gillis has joined Acquia as Vice President, Global Talent Development and Engagement, where she will lead enterprise-wide initiatives to foster leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational learning. Her appointment reflects Acquia’s commitment to building a high-impact, people-first culture as it continues to empower digital innovators worldwide.

Prior to joining Acquia, Ellen Gillis founded and led Gillis Group, LLC for over five years, working with leaders across industries to cultivate their strengths and accelerate performance. She delivered executive coaching and talent consulting rooted in self-awareness, strategic action, and organizational alignment.

From 2010 to 2020, Ellen served nearly a decade at Rue Gilt Groupe, ultimately becoming Vice President, People, and acting as interim Chief People Officer. She played a transformative role in building high-potential talent programs, leading executive off-sites, and championing performance management systems. Her contributions were showcased at national events, including the Chief Learning Officer Exchange.

Earlier, Ellen was Associate Director of Learning & Development at Digitas North America, where she designed large-scale leader development programs and organizational training initiatives across U.S. and European teams. Her L&D plans impacted over 600 employees and earned top marks from leadership.

She also held a long tenure at Reebok, where she co-designed a foundational leadership program and competency model used for talent development, diversity training, and succession planning across the company’s U.S. operations.

Her most recent advisory work includes serving as an Adjunct Assessment Consultant for DDI | Development Dimensions International, where she brought behavioral science to talent assessment and leadership effectiveness frameworks.
