Reporting directly to the CEO, Ellen will oversee strategic initiatives to drive membership growth, enhance market presence, and deliver innovative solutions to support Blue Shield’s mission of creating a sustainable healthcare system.
Before joining Blue Shield of California, Ellen was the Chief Operating Officer at Curative, where she played a key role in optimizing operations and implementing transformative healthcare initiatives during her tenure.
Ellen also founded ES Healthcare Advisory and Consulting, where she advised private equity firms and healthcare organizations on acquisitions, strategic planning, and market positioning.
At Humana, Ellen served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Specialty and Group Benefits, where she led a $3 billion revenue business, significantly increasing membership and introducing innovations in AI-driven customer service and telehealth.
Ellen’s leadership experience includes a tenure as CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin, where she drove significant growth and operational excellence, earning multiple accolades for market-leading performance.
