Nairobi, Kenya, February 2025 – Food4Education, an award-winning African-led initiative tackling classroom hunger, has appointed Farida Mohamed as Chief People Officer. In this role, she will lead the organization’s people strategy, overseeing key functions such as talent acquisition, performance management, organizational design, employee engagement, and HR operations.
With extensive HR leadership experience across the philanthropy, finance, and legal sectors, Farida brings a deep understanding of organizational growth, culture development, and strategic HR management. She is passionate about aligning people strategies with business goals to drive social impact.
Before joining Food4Education, Farida Mohamed served as Head of HR – Africa at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) for over three years. In this role, she played a crucial part in strategic HR development, workforce planning, and performance management across multiple regions.
Prior to CIFF, she held a dual leadership role as Head of HR & Corporate Communication at GTBank Kenya, where she developed HR strategies, communication frameworks, and employee engagement initiatives. She also served as HR & Administration Manager at DLA Piper Africa (IKM Advocates), where she built HR capacity aligned with global standards.
Earlier in her career, she held managerial HR roles at KPMG East Africa and Jumia Group, where she was responsible for talent management, leadership development, and employee relations.
