FWD Insurance, a leading pan-Asian life insurance company, has announced the appointment of Sandeep Pandey as its new Group Chief Technology and Operations Officer. With a career spanning over two decades across the insurance and technology sectors, Pandey brings a wealth of experience to his new role, where he will oversee the integration and technical alignment of FWD’s insurance operating platform, Opus, and customer platform, Omne. This strategic move aims to bolster FWD’s One Modularity program, ensuring a flexible, cost-effective IT platform across all channels, functions, and business units.
Before his current appointment, Pandey served as the Group Chief Technology Officer at FWD Insurance, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s cloud transformation, achieving a remarkable 97% cloud adoption rate. His efforts have significantly propelled digital transformation and modernization of IT architecture, applications, and infrastructure within the company. In his new position, Pandey is set to lead the development of FWD’s next-generation platform, powered by GenAI, while continuing to prioritize the protection of FWD’s customers and colleagues.
Pandey’s journey in the IT and digital transformation landscape has been diverse and impactful. Prior to joining FWD Insurance, he held the position of Chief Information, Digital, and Customer Experience Officer at Bupa for international markets. His tenure at Bupa was marked by significant contributions to IT and digital transformation strategies across Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Pandey’s earlier roles include serving as Chief Technology Officer for AIA in Hong Kong and Malaysia, where he led IT divisions toward breakthrough strategies, emphasizing proactive technology use and integrated data analytics.
