London, United Kingdom – October 2024 – Gareth Nokes has joined PoloWorks as the new Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he will oversee financial operations, guide strategic planning, and drive financial growth. As CFO, Gareth will collaborate with the executive team to implement financial strategies that align with PoloWorks’ growth objectives within the insurance sector, ensuring compliance, financial transparency, and operational excellence.
Before joining PoloWorks, Gareth served as Chief Executive Officer at Bhubesi Pride Foundation, where he led the organization for nearly three years. During his tenure, he navigated the foundation through significant challenges, including the global pandemic, while spearheading the development of a sports and education facility in Africa. He later transitioned to a Trustee role, continuing to contribute to the foundation’s strategic direction and growth.
Earlier, Gareth was the Group Head of Finance at Aspen Insurance Group for almost four years, based in Bermuda. In this position, he was responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis, while also implementing financial controls across the organization. He played a key role in enhancing the group’s financial structure and supporting its strategic initiatives.
He also held the position of Group CFO at Torus Insurance, where he led financial operations and restructuring efforts. His work contributed to the company’s overall financial health and strategic growth. Additionally, Gareth spent over a decade at Enstar Group, progressing from Senior Vice President to European CFO. His responsibilities included overseeing financial operations across multiple European markets, implementing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
In his earlier career, Gareth was a Senior Manager at Deloitte Bermuda, focusing on insurance clients. He was involved in financial audits, compliance, and strategic financial consulting, which provided him with a strong foundation in the financial management of insurance companies.
