With a career spanning over 20 years in equity strategy, capital markets, and research, Gaurav is poised to lead Standard Chartered’s investment strategy and portfolio management initiatives, aimed at delivering differentiated wealth solutions to high-net-worth individuals and affluent clients across India.
Gaurav joins Standard Chartered following an impressive near two-decade journey with Mirae Asset Sharekhan by BNP Paribas, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s capital markets strategy. As Senior Vice President and Head of Capital Market Strategy, he led equity research, market outlook, and advisory for retail and institutional segments, helping build Sharekhan’s positioning as a respected name in the Indian brokerage landscape.
Before his leadership role at Sharekhan, Gaurav served as Senior Analyst and Head of Research, specializing in IT, telecom, and media sectors, while also managing mid-cap stock coverage and mentoring research teams. His early career included heading the Mumbai-based fundamental research team at Anagram Securities (now part of Edelweiss), where he was instrumental in establishing the research division’s foundation.
