Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 — Visa, the global leader in digital payments, has announced the appointment of Gaurav Ramdev as Head of Marketing for India and South Asia, marking a significant addition to its regional leadership team. With nearly two decades of distinguished experience in brand leadership, digital strategy, growth marketing, and consumer storytelling, Gaurav is recognized among India’s foremost marketing leaders and brings a proven record of driving transformative brand growth across sectors.

In his new role, Gaurav will lead Visa’s marketing vision across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, shaping its brand narrative to deepen consumer trust and accelerate digital payments adoption across the region. He currently also serves as Co-Chairperson of ASSOCHAM’s National Council of Branding & Marketing and Council Member of ASCI’s Consumer Complaints Council (CCC)—positions that reflect his deep influence in shaping India’s marketing and advertising landscape.

Before joining Visa, Gaurav served as CMO & CGMO at Protean eGov Technologies, where he built the company’s marketing engine, redefined its identity, and crafted its IPO narrative. Under his leadership, Protean achieved over 20 national marketing awards, setting new benchmarks for storytelling-led growth and digital brand transformation.

Earlier, as Head of Marketing at RazorpayX, Gaurav scaled the neo-banking platform’s visibility with its first large-format campaign, cutting customer acquisition costs by 400% and tripling active users. During his six-year tenure at The Coca-Cola Company, he led the Fanta brand’s revival across India and South West Asia, drove high-impact campaigns for Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Minute Maid, and achieved record-breaking growth across multiple beverage categories.

Gaurav’s early career included key marketing roles at Britannia Industries, MTR Foods (Orkla Group), ITC Limited, and Satyam Computer Services, where he developed a deep understanding of consumer behavior, retail marketing, and cross-industry storytelling. An MBA in Sales and Marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, Gaurav combines strategic insight with creative vision, positioning him to strengthen Visa’s brand leadership in South Asia’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
