London, England, United Kingdom, September 2025 – Moorfields Eye Hospital has announced the appointment of Geoff Barsby as its new Head of People Resourcing. In this role, Barsby will oversee recruitment, rostering, and temporary staffing operations across the hospital’s extensive network, ensuring a strong workforce strategy that supports Moorfields’ world-class clinical care and research.
Barsby has been with Moorfields Eye Hospital since 2023, most recently serving as Head of Temporary Staffing. In this capacity, he was responsible for leading rostering and temporary workforce management, playing a pivotal role in ensuring operational continuity and supporting frontline healthcare delivery. His contributions during this period positioned him strongly for his elevation to Head of People Resourcing.
Prior to Moorfields, Barsby built a strong career with NHS Professionals, where he spent over seven years in multiple leadership roles. He served as ICS Client Services Manager, Head of the CEO’s Office (Secondment), Strategic Account Manager, and Client Relationship Manager. These positions enabled him to lead key NHS workforce initiatives, develop client partnerships, and drive service improvements across London, Hertfordshire, and West Essex.
Earlier in his career, Barsby spent more than eight years with BHS, where he progressed from Weekend Associate to Commercial Manager (Flagship). He gained extensive retail and operations management experience through roles as Graduate Retail Management Trainee, Sales Floor Manager, Hospitality Manager, Operations Manager, and Commercial Manager. This early career experience equipped him with strong leadership, customer service, and operational management skills that have complemented his HR expertise.
