Greater Delhi Area, India, July 2025 — Gopalji Mehrotra has joined Acme Groups as Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing with him over three decades of rich and diverse HR leadership across top-tier organizations. In this strategic role, he will spearhead HR transformation, drive leadership development, and lead people-centric initiatives to support Acme’s dynamic growth in the clean and renewable energy space.
Prior to joining Acme, Gopalji served as Head of Human Resources at HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL), where he played a pivotal role in cultural transformation, built a future-ready leadership pipeline, and aligned HR strategy with the organization’s vision for renewable energy and pan-India retail. Under his leadership, HMEL achieved an 86% employee satisfaction score and became a Great Place to Work.
Before HMEL, he held the position of President at Astix, where he was a transformation consultant and developed advanced HR tools including automated assessment centers. His global perspective was further strengthened during his tenure as Senior Vice President – Global HR at Ashok Leyland, Mylan, and Zensar Technologies, where he led international M&A integration, HR digitization, and large-scale organization design initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Gopalji held senior HR roles at Kennametal, both in the U.S. and India, where he was instrumental in redesigning global HR processes and leading change management initiatives across 17 countries. He began his career at ITC Limited, where he spent a decade driving HR innovations in both manufacturing and corporate settings.
Gopalji is a certified Master Coach (MCC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF, USA) and has contributed significantly to the HR community as a chapter president. He holds an MBA in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur, a BA in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), a Master’s in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, and has completed executive education in HR Strategy for Transforming Organizations from the London Business School.
