Haissam El Ferekh Promoted as Director of Human Resources at Majid Al Futtaim

Majid Al Futtaim, a frontrunner in the shopping mall, communities, retail, and leisure industries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Haissam El Ferekh as Director of Human Resources. This promotion marks a significant milestone in El Ferekh’s extensive career, spanning over 15 years of dedicated service in the field of human resources.

With a longstanding commitment to fostering a culture of growth, inclusivity, and innovation, El Ferekh’s journey within Majid Al Futtaim itself stretches back nearly a decade. His role prior to this promotion was as the HR Digital Experience Lead, where he played a pivotal role in Majid Al Futtaim’s Center Of Excellence for Employee Digital Experience. Here, El Ferekh was instrumental in enhancing the digital aspects of employee engagement and HR practices, reflecting his forward-thinking approach to HR management.

Before stepping into his digital-focused role, El Ferekh served as the Regional HRIS Manager for Retail at Carrefour, a key part of the Majid Al Futtaim group, showcasing his ability to manage human resources information systems effectively across a broad retail network. His experience also includes tenure as a Human Resources Business Partner, further solidifying his expertise in aligning HR strategies with business objectives.

El Ferekh’s HR journey began outside Majid Al Futtaim, with significant contributions at Electro Mechanical Enterprises in Qatar and Lebanon, and Harb Electric, where he developed a strong foundation in HR management, payroll administration, and accounting.

As he steps into his new role as Director of Human Resources, El Ferekh is poised to lead Majid Al Futtaim’s HR initiatives into a new era of growth and development. His vast experience within the company and his profound understanding of the challenges and opportunities in human resources management in the Middle East and beyond are expected to drive Majid Al Futtaim’s HR strategy forward.

Majid Al Futtaim, known for its vision to create ‘Great Moments for Everyone, Everyday,’ looks forward to the continued leadership and innovation that El Ferekh will bring to the HR department.
