Dallas, Texas, May 2024 – KFC U.S. announced that it has appointed Heather McCoy as Chief People Officer. McCoy joins KFC U.S. from Taco Bell U.S., where she spent the last three years, most recently serving as Vice President of Human Resources. Under her leadership, Taco Bell evolved its Field Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) approach and led the enhancement of the team member experience in the restaurants.
At Taco Bell, Heather served as Vice President of Field & Franchise HR for over a year. In this role, she developed and delivered HR strategy for field and brand Centers of Excellence (COEs). She led the HRBP team for Field, Development, Corporate Operations, and Restaurant Excellence functions. Additionally, she spearheaded the COE teams of Talent Acquisition, Asset Protection, Field Learning & Development, and Field Transformation.
Prior to this, Heather was the Sr. Director of Field & Franchise HR at Taco Bell, where she led an HR team that partnered closely with senior leaders across Operations and Development, as well as franchisees. Her efforts were instrumental in aligning and prioritizing people strategies that drove business results in Taco Bell restaurants globally.
Before joining Taco Bell, Heather spent nearly four years at Dollar Tree Stores, where she held multiple roles, including Director of Talent and Director of Human Resources, North Central. In these positions, she led talent management and development for all functions, implemented best-in-class strategies and programs in succession planning, executive and leadership development, organizational development, and training development. Her contributions were key to achieving strategic business objectives and building the necessary talent for future success.
Heather’s earlier career includes her role as Area HR Manager at Lowe’s Companies, Inc., where she led a team of 32 HR Managers supporting 4,600 employees across multiple states. She also worked as HR Manager and Management & Organizational Development Supervisor at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, gaining valuable experience in HR management and organizational development.
