GAIL (India) Limited, a leader in India’s natural gas sector, has welcomed Hirdesh Kumar Bansal as the new Executive Director (HR). Bansal, who took up his new role in April 2024, is based in New Delhi and brings with him over a decade of extensive experience in the gas and energy sector.
Prior to his current position, Bansal served as Chief General Manager at GAIL (India) Limited in Bengaluru, Karnataka, from May 2022 to April 2024. In this role, he was pivotal in managing significant operational responsibilities and strategic leadership, contributing to the company’s ongoing projects and HR initiatives.
Before his tenure in Bengaluru, Bansal was the Managing Director at CENTRAL U.P. GAS LIMITED from November 2020 to May 2022. Located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he oversaw the city gas distribution, enhancing the company’s reach and operational efficiency in the region.
Earlier in his career with GAIL (India) Limited, he held the position of Chief General Manager from April 2018 to November 2020 in Dibiyapur. There, he was in charge of the compressor station and played a crucial role in the maintenance and operation of the pipeline network across Uttar Pradesh, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
Bansal’s cumulative experiences across various leadership roles within the sector underscore his deep expertise and commitment to advancing India’s energy infrastructure and human resources development.
