New York, United States, November 2025 — Ilan Mandel has begun a new chapter as the Chief Financial Officer at Fairfield-Maxwell Ltd., a prominent third-generation family-owned enterprise with a long-standing legacy of building, acquiring, and growing businesses across industries and geographies. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s financial strategy and governance, supporting Fairfield-Maxwell’s long-term, permanent-capital investment approach while guiding financial operations across its diversified portfolio.
Before joining Fairfield-Maxwell Ltd., Ilan most recently served as Chief Financial Officer at 166 2nd, where he spent nearly one and a half years leading financial strategy, supporting portfolio oversight, and strengthening financial processes for a family-office environment. His tenure was marked by deep involvement in driving financial stewardship and operational discipline across the organisation.
Prior to that, Ilan spent over eleven years at The Heyman Enterprise as Chief Financial Officer, where he built extensive expertise across hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate, and multi-asset portfolio structures. His long-standing leadership enabled him to manage sophisticated financial ecosystems within one of New York’s well-recognised family-office networks, deepening his capabilities in strategic financial management and cross-asset oversight.
Earlier in his career, Ilan held senior leadership roles at Cooperstown Capital Management as Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer / Principal, and before that as Chief Financial Officer at Durham Asset Management LLC, where he spent more than six years overseeing hedge fund operations, private equity positions, credit structures, and complex debt instruments including CLOs and bank debt.
In the early stages of his finance career, Ilan served as Chief Financial Officer at Scout Capital Management, L.L.C., where he gained foundational expertise in accounting, hedge funds, and equities, shaping the technical depth and market understanding that continues to define his leadership approach today.
