Baku, Azerbaijan, December 2025 – Ilkin Guliyev has been appointed as Chief Retail & Marketing Officer | Member of the Management Board at Unibank. In this role, he is responsible for leading Unibank’s retail banking, marketing, product development, affluent banking, SME and corporate banking, and customer experience strategies, strengthening Unibank’s position as one of Azerbaijan’s leading private banks.
In his current role at Unibank, Ilkin is leading the bank’s retail and marketing transformation while also contributing at the board level to strategic decision-making and digital banking expansion initiatives.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Business Officer at Unibank, where he led microfinance, SME and corporate banking, affluent banking, and agile product development functions.
Before joining Unibank, Ilkin was a Member of the Management Board at AccessBank Azerbaijan, responsible for retail, SME/corporate banking, marketing, and card business functions.
Earlier, he served as Director of Organizational Development & Human Capital at Unibank, leading strategic HRM, organizational development, change management, process optimization, and PMO functions.
Ilkin’s earlier career included strategic and risk leadership roles at The International Bank of Azerbaijan and Kapital Bank OJSC, and he began his banking career across retail, private banking, AML/compliance, forex business, and international relations functions within Unibank.
He holds a Postgraduate Degree in Banking and Finance from Newcastle University Business School.
