Malaysia, January 2026 — Iskandar Shah Zulkarnain has been appointed as Group Chief People Officer (GCPO) of MBSB Bank Berhad, effective 15 January 2026. In this role, he will lead the Group’s people and culture agenda, strengthening human capital strategies aligned with MBSB Bank’s long-term business and transformation priorities.
Iskandar brings with him extensive leadership experience in human resources across the banking and energy sectors. Prior to joining MBSB Bank Berhad, he served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, where he led enterprise-wide HR strategies, talent management initiatives, and organizational development programs.
Earlier, he was HR Director at Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia, overseeing human resources operations during a period of business growth and consolidation. His career also includes a tenure as Head of Human Resources – HSBC Amanah at HSBC, where he supported HR leadership within the Islamic banking arm of the global financial institution.
Before transitioning fully into senior HR leadership roles, Iskandar held the position of Senior Business Relationship Manager at Maybank, and earlier worked as an HR Account Manager at Shell, building a strong foundation in HR business partnering and stakeholder management.
