Copenhagen, Denmark, October 2024 — Jakob Ejlsted has taken on the role of Head of People Analytics at SAS – Scandinavian Airlines, where he will spearhead the creation of the People Analytics and Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) functions from scratch. In his new position, Jakob will focus on driving data-driven insights to support the airline’s people strategies and enhance operational efficiency.
Prior to joining SAS, Jakob Ejlsted served as the Global Head of Organisational Design & Effectiveness at SABIC for nearly three years, leading a team spread across three continents. At SABIC, he was instrumental in resetting the company’s organizational design approach and developing a best-in-class people strategy to support the company’s long-term growth goals. He also oversaw significant projects in operating model design, culture transformation, and strategic workforce planning.
Before his tenure at SABIC, Jakob held the role of VP People & Culture – Strategy & Insights at bp in London. In this position, Jakob played a critical role in defining and delivering the company’s first-ever integrated people strategy, aimed at guiding bp’s transition from an international oil company to an integrated energy company. His leadership was essential in developing strategies around ESG, workforce transformation, and agile cultural change.
Earlier in his career, Jakob was the Global Head of People Strategy, Analytics, and Systems at Seadrill. There, he successfully delivered Seadrill’s first people strategy, drove HR’s digital transformation, and developed a 3-year roadmap for the People Analytics function. His efforts in creating organizational capabilities aligned with Seadrill’s new business model were pivotal to the company’s transformation.
Jakob also spent over six years at Mercer, where he ascended to the position of Principal Consultant. In this capacity, he delivered strategic workforce planning initiatives, analytics-driven insights, and global compensation projects for multinational clients, significantly contributing to Mercer’s growth in the HR consulting space.
