Perrysburg, Ohio, USA – October 2024 – James Dalton has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources & Information Technology Officer at O-I Glass, Inc. This newly combined role reflects a strategic approach to connect the two critical functions of People and Technology, positioning them as key drivers of enterprise performance at O-I.
James has been with O-I Glass, Inc. for over seven years, most recently serving as Chief Digital and Information Technology Officer for a brief period before transitioning to his new role as CHRO & CIO. Previously, he held the role of Vice President, Global Transformation, Change & Integration (CTO), where he reported directly to the CEO. He was responsible for driving enterprise-wide transformation programs that integrated business agendas with O-I’s strategy, enhancing organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

Prior to this, James served as Vice President, Global Human Resources (co-CHRO) at O-I, leading the HR function with over 300 HR professionals across the globe. His efforts focused on implementing a new operating model, launching diversity initiatives, and managing employee engagement and virtual learning systems. He also contributed to the Board Talent & Compensation Committee.
Before joining O-I, James had an extensive 16-year career at Kellogg Company. His roles included Senior Director of HR for the North American Supply Chain, where he oversaw HR strategy for manufacturing, logistics, and procurement, as well as HR Director roles for Australia and New Zealand. His earlier experience includes HR management positions at Mail Call Couriers Pty Ltd in Australia.
