Blacksburg, Virginia, August 2024 – Jamie Swaim has joined Torc Robotics as the new Chief People Officer. In this role, Jamie will be responsible for leading the human resources function and driving key initiatives in talent acquisition, organizational development, and employee engagement to support Torc Robotics’ mission of revolutionizing the trucking and freight industry with autonomous technology.
Jamie brings over two decades of HR leadership experience to Torc Robotics. Before this role, Jamie was the Founder of Parcel, LLC, a venture focused on providing HR consulting services, where she honed her expertise in legal compliance, organizational performance, and HR operations. This entrepreneurial experience allowed her to apply innovative HR strategies in various business contexts.
Prior to founding Parcel, LLC, Jamie served as the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at Farm Credit Mid-America for over five years. There, she managed HR service delivery, organizational design, and legal compliance, playing a crucial role in enhancing employee satisfaction and overall organizational performance.
Earlier in her career, Jamie held various HR management roles at Amazon, where she led HR operations across multiple locations in Kentucky. She was instrumental in streamlining HR processes and ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards. Her career also includes HR leadership positions at Precision Metal Works, Gap Inc., and Precision Tool, Die, and Machine Co. Inc., where she developed and implemented HR strategies that aligned with business goals and fostered a positive work environment.
