Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, August 2025 — Dr Venkat Reddy, PhD has been appointed Vice President – R&D, Peptides and Small Molecules at Chemeca Drugs Pvt Ltd, where he will lead the R&D group in pioneering peptide-based therapeutics and pharmaceutical small molecule innovations. With a rich background in global pharmaceutical research and development, Dr Reddy brings a wealth of cross-functional leadership and scientific expertise to the role.
He previously co-founded ManoTri Pharma, serving as Chief Scientific Officer, where he architected the scientific and operational vision, oversaw setup of facilities, and led peptide synthesis, purification, CRO/CDMO collaborations, and international scientific outreach. As Director – Strategic Growth & Scientific Operations at Intech Analytical Instruments, he developed strong KOL collaborations and strategic plans in peptide and biologics therapeutics.
Dr Reddy also held global scientific leadership roles, including Commercial Head at AMSAAL, UAE, where he led venom-derived therapeutics initiatives; Head of Business Development – India & Sr BDM Purification Technologies at Phenomenex, contributing to significant growth in purification portfolios across India and APAC; and Chief Application Scientist at HanBon Science Technology, China, where he deployed advanced purification strategies and received the “Technology Innovation Award (2015–2016)”.
Earlier, he advanced peptide API research as Research Scientist / Head–API at ISSAR Pharmaceuticals, where he managed peptide synthesis, process development, purification, and successful technology transfers, leading to the commercialization of therapeutics such as Decapeptide (Melgain) and Genopep. His foundational experience also includes roles in medicinal chemistry at SAPALA Organics, academic research at Technological University Dublin and Dalarna University Sweden, process chemistry at Pfizer, Ireland, and advanced thesis research at the Swedish LCD Research Center AB.
