Brisbane, Australia, August 2024 – Janita Valentine has taken on the role of Group Chief People Officer at Auto & General Australia, where she will oversee the entire people function of the organization, including recruitment, employee relations, workplace health and safety, payroll, and people systems. In her new position, Valentine will continue to drive the company’s strategic HR initiatives and support the Compare the Market business.
Janita Valentine has been with Auto & General Australia for over three years. Before her recent appointment, she served as the Associate Director People Services, where she led various People Operations functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and workplace health and safety. Previously, she was the General Manager People Services, responsible for leading the HR function and overseeing critical areas such as business partnering, HR advisory, and the implementation of HRIS projects.
Before joining Auto & General, Valentine was a Board Member at the Queensland College of Teachers and served as the Executive Director, Transformation and Capability at the Queensland Department of Education. In this role, she led strategic workforce transformation initiatives and provided expert advice on human resource management policies. Earlier in her career, she held senior positions at Super Retail Group, Shine Lawyers, and JV & Co., where she focused on organizational change management, employee relations, and strategic HR solutions.
Her extensive career also includes key roles at Seqwater and the Department of Justice and Attorney General (QLD), where she managed industrial relations experts and led certified agreement negotiations across the public sector.
