Chirano, Ghana, April 2025 – Jemima B. Afari has taken on a new leadership role as Head of Human Resources at Asante Gold Chirano Limited, a key subsidiary of Asante Gold Corporation. In this position, she will lead the company’s strategic HR initiatives across the Chirano operations, championing talent development, organizational effectiveness, and people-centric policies that align with Asante’s ESG commitments and growth trajectory in Ghana’s gold sector.
Prior to her appointment, Jemima B. Afari served for nearly three years as Human Resources Superintendent at Asante Gold, where she was instrumental in shaping HR operations, succession planning, and performance systems at the Chirano site. Her contributions were vital in aligning people strategy with the company’s transition post-acquisition.
Before joining Asante, Jemima held the role of Human Resources Superintendent – Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, HRIS & Compliance at Kinross Gold Corporation, where she was responsible for end-to-end HR systems and regulatory compliance during a pivotal restructuring phase.
Her leadership journey also includes nearly three years with Perseus Mining Limited, where she served as HR Superintendent at Edikan Mine. In this role, she led talent management initiatives, developed employee relations frameworks, and supported organizational change.
Earlier in her career, she held progressive HR roles with World Vision, The Capital Group Ltd, British High Commission, and leading banks including Fidelity Bank Ghana and Absa Group, gaining diverse experience across service delivery, compliance, and people operations.
