Pune, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 – Bajaj Finance Ltd., one of India’s most prominent financial institutions and a subsidiary of Bajaj Finserv Ltd., has announced the appointment of Jennifer Mathew Fernandes as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). With over two decades of leadership experience in human resources, organizational development, and talent strategy, Jennifer brings deep expertise in leading people-centric transformation and enabling growth across complex financial ecosystems.
In her new role, Jennifer will spearhead Bajaj Finance’s people strategy, talent development, and organizational capability agenda as the company continues to strengthen its position as one of India’s most trusted and innovative non-banking financial institutions.
Jennifer Mathew Fernandes has been an integral part of the Bajaj Finserv Group for more than a decade, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the group’s HR architecture and leadership development initiatives. Most recently, she served as the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer at Bajaj Finance Ltd., leading HR partnering, learning & development, and talent acquisition for a workforce of over 40,000 employees. Her efforts were instrumental in driving cultural transformation, strengthening engagement, and advancing organizational capability.
Before her elevation to CHRO, Jennifer was the Chief Human Resources Officer at Bajaj Housing Finance Limited, where she led HR and administration for a workforce of nearly 4,000 employees. She implemented impactful strategies for productivity enhancement, employee engagement, and leadership development, aligning HR initiatives closely with business outcomes.
Prior to joining Bajaj Finserv, Jennifer spent nearly nine years at L&T Financial Services, where she rose to become Head – Group Compensation & Benefits and Business Partner HR. In this role, she established group-wide HR frameworks, streamlined compensation structures, and designed high-impact performance and engagement systems. Her strategic initiatives supported the company’s growth and diversification across lending, insurance, and asset management businesses.
Earlier in her career, Jennifer gained entrepreneurial and operational exposure as National Head – Strategic Relationships at Team 4 U, where she expanded the firm’s western India operations and managed large-scale recruitment and client partnerships. She began her HR career at Concast Standard Engineering (I) Pvt. Ltd. and KGK, where she was instrumental in developing foundational HR systems, trainee programs, and workforce processes.
Jennifer holds an MBA in Human Resources from the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), where she was the Silver Medallist of her batch. Her academic foundation in HR has been pivotal to her professional success, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and excellence.
