Moodley, transitioning from Digital Realty, brings a wealth of experience in human resources management within the technology, digital infrastructure, and healthcare industries. Her appointment on March 7, 2024, in London, United Kingdom, aligns with Kao Data’s ambitious growth plans across the UK and Europe.

With an illustrious career that spans various sectors, Moodley has demonstrated exceptional skill in building high-performance, multidisciplinary teams that have spurred strategic growth throughout the UK and EMEA regions. At Digital Realty, she led a dynamic team responsible for refining the organization’s recruitment strategy, successfully attracting top-tier professionals to the data centre realm across both the UK and Europe.

In her new role at Kao Data, Moodley is tasked with spearheading the company’s human resources functions, including talent acquisition, development, and retention. She is set to implement operational frameworks and change management strategies essential for the company as it scales into next-tier markets across the continent. Moodley’s strategic vision aims to harmonize Kao Data’s recruitment processes and operational dynamics to support the organization’s growth and innovation trajectory.

Further enriching her role, Moodley will drive efforts towards creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce, aligning with Kao Data’s ESG commitments. Her initiatives will include collaboration with educational institutions to develop pathways for female engineers into the data centre industry, promoting gender diversity and inclusion within the tech sector.

Moodley’s decision to join Kao Data was influenced by the company’s outstanding reputation in sustainability leadership, its visionary approach, and its commitment to fostering a strong, inclusive corporate culture. “I’m delighted to join Kao Data as its new Chief People Officer, and to work with its senior leadership team as we embark on a new phase of growth, where diverse talent, industry leadership and sustainable innovation remain at the heart of the business,” said Moodley.

Doug Loewe, CEO of Kao Data, emphasized the critical role of people in the company’s success, stating, “Kalay’s appointment to the senior management team, and her passion for working with high-performance teams to realise their full potential will be integral to our success.”
