Hamilton, Bermuda, October 2025 — Soteria Reinsurance Ltd. (SoteriaRe), a private Class E Bermuda-based reinsurance company established by Fidelity Investments, has announced the appointment of Rebecca Cairns as its Chief Financial Officer. In this key leadership role, Rebecca will oversee the company’s global finance strategy, financial reporting, and risk management, driving operational excellence and supporting SoteriaRe’s continued growth in the reinsurance sector.
Rebecca has been with SoteriaRe for nearly two years, most recently serving as Head of Accounting, where she led the company’s financial operations and regulatory reporting functions. Her expertise in both U.S. GAAP and Bermuda statutory frameworks has been critical to the company’s strong financial governance and compliance standards.
Before joining SoteriaRe, Rebecca spent over two years at Athene in Bermuda, where she served as Director of Accounting and Transactions Advisory Group. She played a pivotal role in developing accounting policies for complex reinsurance transactions and led the company’s implementation of US GAAP LDTI (Long-Duration Targeted Improvements), ensuring seamless transition and cross-functional training. During her tenure as Finance Manager at Athene, she also oversaw SEC close processes and prepared senior-management presentations for the firm’s co-investment reinsurance affiliate.
Earlier in her career, Rebecca worked at Sompo International as a Senior Financial Accountant, where she handled global insurance accounting and reporting processes. Prior to that, she built a strong audit foundation at PwC Bermuda and PwC Canada, delivering assurance services to major insurance and reinsurance clients under IFRS, US GAAP, and Bermuda statutory regulations.
A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Master of Professional Accounting, Rebecca brings more than a decade of experience in financial governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic accounting to her new role. Her appointment reinforces SoteriaRe’s commitment to financial strength, transparency, and client-centric excellence.
