Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 — In a significant leadership move, Waaree Group has appointed Mr. Kamlesh Harchandani as the Chief Executive Officer – Data Center Business. With over 30 years of experience, including 18+ years in the Data Center industry, Kamlesh brings a wealth of expertise across strategy, design, business planning, and operations — marking a bold step in Waaree’s ambitious expansion into India’s fast-growing data center and colocation infrastructure market.

Prior to joining Waaree Group, Kamlesh Harchandani served as Vice President & Head – Data Center Design & Development at CapitaLand Data Center India Pvt Ltd. During his 5+ year tenure, he played a central role in the design and development of greenfield data center projects, driving the planning of IT loads ranging from 25 MW to 150+ MW across major cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore. His work was recognized with multiple awards, including Outstanding Technical Achievement, Extra Miler, and Eminence & Excellence awards.
Before that, Kamlesh served as Country Head – Data Center Projects (India & SAARC) at Sterling and Wilson, a part of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group. There, he executed multiple greenfield and captive data centers across India, with IT load capacities reaching up to 60+ MW, including Tier IV Certified state-level facilities.
He also spent nearly 9 years at IBM India Pvt Ltd, where he held the position of Senior Solution Architect – Data Center Projects. His responsibilities included customer engagement, technical design, vendor negotiations, and end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center infrastructure including Tier III compliant facilities and high-density deployments for up to 8,000 IT racks.
Earlier in his career, Kamlesh led Data Center Expansion Projects at Reliance IDC, where he oversaw conceptualization to commissioning of data centers with electrical loads of up to 8 MVA, bringing his project management and engineering acumen to the forefront.
Kamlesh holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Institute of Technology and Management.
