Kara Gilson Appointed Director, Compensation Operations at QXO

Greenwich, Connecticut, United States, July 2026 — QXO has appointed Kara Gilson as Director, Compensation Operations, strengthening its people leadership as the company continues to scale its workforce and accelerate growth across North America.

In her new role, Kara will lead compensation operations supporting approximately 28,000 employees across North America, partnering closely with business leaders, HR teams, and functional stakeholders to build scalable compensation programs, strengthen governance, drive operational consistency, and support QXO’s continued expansion through organic growth and acquisitions.

Kara joins QXO after serving as Senior Compensation Manager at TopBuild, where she progressed from Compensation Manager to Senior Compensation Manager and led enterprise compensation programs for a workforce of more than 15,000 employees across the United States and Canada. She managed base pay structures, incentive compensation, long-term incentive plans, and compensation integration initiatives supporting business growth and acquisitions.

Previously, Kara served as Global Senior Compensation Analyst at Church & Dwight Co., Inc., where she partnered on global compensation programs spanning North America, Europe, and international markets, leading international merit cycles, executive benchmarking, and market pricing initiatives. Earlier, she was Compensation Manager – Corporate at Orlando Health, overseeing enterprise compensation programs for a workforce of more than 25,000 employees, including compensation strategy, incentive design, acquisitions, and pay equity initiatives.

Her earlier career at RaceTrac included progressive leadership roles in compensation and talent development, where she led the implementation of Workday Compensation and Absence, supported compensation planning, career pathing, organizational design, and talent development. She began her professional journey with Wyndham Vacation Ownership, building experience in learning and development, employee engagement, and organizational capability.

Across her career, Kara has developed deep expertise in Compensation Strategy, Compensation Operations, Total Rewards, Incentive Compensation, Executive Compensation, Market Pricing, Salary Structures, Job Evaluation, HRIS, Workday, Compensation Integration, Organizational Design, Talent Development, Pay Equity, Workforce Planning, and Enterprise Compensation Programs.

Her appointment supports QXO’s vision of building scalable people operations that enable sustainable growth across one of North America’s largest building products organizations.
