Kuwait, January 2024 – Karim El Ghandour is promoted to Cluster Director of Human Resources at IHG Hotels & Resorts. Karim is excited to take on this leadership position and contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.
Karim El Ghandour brings over 13 years of experience with IHG Hotels & Resorts to his new role. Since January 2024, he has been serving as the Cluster Director of Human Resources in Kuwait, overseeing HR strategies and operations for multiple properties within the region. His skills in strategic planning, employee engagement, talent management, and global talent acquisition have been instrumental in driving organizational success.
From October 2017 to January 2024, Karim was the Human Resources Manager in Cairo, Egypt. In this role, he developed and implemented HR policies, managed recruitment, training, career development, compensation, employee relations, and compliance. His leadership and strategic planning were key in aligning HR initiatives with the company’s goals.
Previously, from June 2014 to October 2017, Karim served as the Complex Training and Development Manager at IHG Complex Citystars Cairo. He was responsible for assessing organizational strategies, designing training programs, and supporting line managers and trainers to address specific training needs.
From June 2011 to June 2014, Karim held the position of Convention/Catering Sales Manager at Intercontinental Cairo Citystars, where he actively solicited and booked corporate and wedding events, developed creative menu presentations, and negotiated with clients to maximize revenue.
Earlier in his career, Karim was the Managing Director at Monopoly Travel from 2008 to 2011. He recognized and developed new business opportunities, prepared annual financial plans, and analyzed financials to drive revenue growth. He also held roles as Duty Manager/Night Manager at InterContinental Hotels Group from 2006 to 2008, Senior Tour Leaders Trainer at Peregrine Adventures from 2003 to 2006, and Front Office Shift Leader at Semiramis InterContinental from 1999 to 2003.
