Washington, District of Columbia, United States, September 2025 – Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, one of the world’s largest intellectual property law firms, has appointed Kathy Bowman-Williams as Chief People Officer. In this role, Kathy will lead the firm’s global people strategy, culture, and talent initiatives across its extensive network of offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Kathy most recently served at Squire Patton Boggs as Global Director of Workplace Culture & Development, where she drove initiatives fostering workplace inclusivity and professional growth. Alongside this role, she has been a Board Member at the Tri-State Diversity Council for nearly nine years, contributing to regional and national diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Earlier, Kathy was Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Baker Botts and Day Pitney LLP, where she played a pivotal role in embedding DEI strategies within the firms’ structures. Before this, she was Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Morgan Stanley, shaping global programs to advance inclusive workplaces.
Her longest corporate tenure was with Verizon, where over six years she advanced from Associate Director, Diversity and Recruitment to Senior Manager, Diversity and Inclusion. At Verizon, she managed large-scale diversity programs, external partnerships, employee resource groups, and global community investment initiatives, earning multiple recognitions for the company.
Kathy holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Syracuse University – Martin J. Whitman School of Management, equipping her with strong business and leadership foundations to complement her expertise in human resources and diversity strategy.
