Bristol, United Kingdom, May 2024 – Kay Howick is excited to announce that she is starting a new position as Head of HR and OD at West of England Combined Authority. In this role, Kay will lead HR strategy and organizational development, contributing to the Authority’s mission of delivering economic growth for the region.
Prior to joining the West of England Combined Authority, Kay Howick served as Head of HR at Happy Days Nurseries & Pre-Schools. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in enhancing HR practices and supporting the organization’s growth.
Earlier, Kay held the position of Deputy HR Director (maternity cover) at Cabot Learning Federation in Bristol. Here, she successfully managed HR operations and provided strategic HR support to the organization.
Kay’s extensive experience also includes her role as an HR Business Partner at Office for Students. She contributed significantly to HR strategies and processes, ensuring compliance and enhancing employee relations.
Before that, she served as an HR Consultant at the Higher Education Funding Council for England. In this role, she provided HR consultancy services, supporting various HR initiatives and policies.
Kay also worked at the Environment Agency for over three years, initially as an HR Specialist from November 2012 to April 2013, and later as an HR Business Partner from April 2013 to June 2016. Her responsibilities included delivering HR solutions and supporting business operations through effective HR management.
Earlier in her career, Kay gained valuable experience at Motability Operations as an HR Advisor, and at GIST as an HR Assistant. She also served as an HR Officer at the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency.
