Fidelity International, a leading global asset management firm, has announced a significant leadership transition, appointing Keith Metters as the new President of the business. This strategic move comes as former CEO Anne Richards steps down from her role, transitioning to the position of Vice Chair after a distinguished tenure at the helm.
Keith Metters, who joined Fidelity International in 2020, previously held the position of Global Head of Platform Solutions, focusing on leading the firm’s workplace investing business. Metters’ extensive background includes over 20 years of experience in various roles within Fidelity Investments in the United States, notably leading the workplace investing core market division. His expertise spans client investment strategies, solutions development, client propositions, and relationship management.
Anne Richards, who has been a prominent figure in the asset management industry, announced her decision to step down as CEO of Fidelity International in November of the previous year. Richards is set to take a six-month break before returning to Fidelity International in her new role as Vice Chair, where she will continue to contribute her vast experience and insights to the firm.
Chair Abigail Johnson expressed confidence in Metters’ leadership, emphasizing his deep knowledge of the Fidelity business, customer-focused approach, and operational effectiveness. Johnson highlighted that Metters’ appointment comes at a crucial time for Fidelity International, as the firm aims to deliver core investment capabilities while expanding its services to meet evolving client needs.
