Houston, Texas, United States, May 2025 – Kimberly Gillespie has joined Sanguine Biosciences as the new Associate Director of Human Resources, bringing with her nearly two decades of progressive HR leadership experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial sectors. In her new role, Kimberly will be responsible for driving strategic people initiatives, optimizing talent operations, and aligning HR functions with Sanguine’s mission of accelerating personalized medicine.

Prior to joining Sanguine, Kimberly served as an HR Consultant for several months, offering tailored human capital solutions to growing organizations across sectors. This role followed her tenure at Aphena Pharma Solutions, where she spent nearly seven years, most recently as Vice President of Human Resources, and earlier as Director of Human Resources and HR Manager. There, she led multi-state HR operations for over 600 employees, overseeing performance management, compliance, employee engagement, and strategic workforce planning.

Before Aphena, she worked as an HR Generalist at Wallenius Wilhelmsen and Morrison Industries, where she managed key HR functions such as benefits administration, health and safety programs, payroll, and policy development. Earlier roles include HR Generalist & Staffing Manager at Absolute Staffing, and HR Assistant positions at Servpro Industries, Inc. and the University of Tennessee Space Institute, where she built a strong foundation in employee relations and talent operations.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
