Seattle, Washington, United States, June 2024 – Kristen Baker has joined OneEnergy as the new Vice President of Human Resources. With a strong background in HR leadership and talent management, Kristen is set to drive HR strategies and initiatives to support OneEnergy’s mission of advancing clean energy projects.
Kristen Baker’s most recent role was at Ethos Veterinary Health, where she served as Sr. Director, HR Business Partners from September 2023 to May 2024. In this position, Kristen led the Corporate and Field HR Business Partner teams, overseeing 9 HRBPs and 30+ on-site HR Managers supporting 150 hospitals across the US. Her responsibilities included employee relations, performance management, HR operations, and implementing people strategies to enhance retention, engagement, and business growth.
Before Ethos Veterinary Health, Kristen was Director, HR Business Partners – Support Center at National Veterinary Associates from September 2022 to September 2023. She led the HR Business Partner team for the corporate office, supporting three lines of business, including Specialty/ER veterinary hospitals, General Practice clinics, and Pet Resorts. Kristen played a key role in organizational design and the company’s strategic split into two businesses.
Kristen also worked at Starbucks as Partner Resources (HR) Manager from April 2019 to September 2022. Here, she was an HR Business Partner for the Finance Division and Shared Services organization, supporting leaders in organizational design, talent planning, performance management, and leadership coaching.
From October 2017 to March 2019, Kristen served as HR Director at MG2 Design in Seattle, Washington. She led the HR team, worked closely with the CEO to execute the people strategy, and transformed HR operations, policies, and practices. Her initiatives included implementing a new Learning Management System (LMS), leading employee engagement surveys, and revising the year-end performance management program.
Earlier in her career, Kristen held the position of Sr. HR Business Partner at Premera Blue Cross from September 2012 to September 2017. She partnered with leaders in IT, Customer Experience, and Sales/Marketing to develop and execute people strategies. Kristen was instrumental in supporting complex reorganizations, talent discussions, performance management, and leadership coaching.
Kristen’s HR journey began at Symetra and Zulily, where she held various HR roles, including HR Generalist and Associate HR Relationship Manager. Her early experience also includes roles at University of Washington and PNC as an Administrative Coordinator.
