United States, August 2026 — Fennec Pharmaceuticals Inc. has appointed Jessica Vargas as Vice President of Human Resources, bringing an experienced HR leader to its leadership team. In her new role, Vargas will support the company’s people strategy, organizational development and culture as Fennec continues its mission of improving outcomes for patients and their families.
Vargas joins Fennec Pharmaceuticals after nearly three years with Amgen, where she served as Director, HR Business Partner. In this role, she further strengthened her experience in strategic HR business partnering within the biopharmaceutical industry, working at the intersection of people priorities and business needs.
Prior to Amgen, Vargas spent more than eight years with Horizon, progressing through a series of increasingly senior human resources positions. Most recently, she served as Director, Human Resources Business Partner – Commercial & Global Medical Affairs, following her role as Associate Director, HR Business Partner – Commercial & Medical Affairs. Earlier at Horizon, she held talent acquisition leadership positions as Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, and Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist.
Earlier in her career, Vargas worked as a Human Resources Generalist at Graphic Packaging International, where her responsibilities included employee relations, recruitment, leave administration and community outreach. She previously spent more than five years with Fenwal, Inc., a Fresenius Kabi company, as a Human Resources Representative.
With approximately 18 years of HR experience, Vargas brings expertise spanning HR business partnering, talent acquisition, employee relations, commercial and medical affairs support, recruitment and people strategy. Her appointment strengthens Fennec Pharmaceuticals’ HR leadership as the company continues to build an environment where employees can perform at their best, remain connected and contribute to its patient-focused mission.
