With over two decades of distinguished leadership in digital transformation, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, and healthcare IT, Kumar steps into this critical role at a time when the organisation is rapidly advancing its digital health capabilities across global operations. His appointment reinforces Aster DM Healthcare’s commitment to building a future-ready, high-integrity digital ecosystem that enhances clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient experience.
In his most recent role, Kumar served as Cybersecurity Advisor at C3i Hub, IIT Kanpur, collaborating with research experts to develop a comprehensive Cybersecurity Maturity Model for the healthcare sector. His work significantly strengthened cybersecurity frameworks and addressed critical vulnerabilities unique to healthcare organisations, demonstrating his forward-looking approach to digital risk management.
Before this, Kumar spent over a decade as Group Chief Information Officer at Narayana Health, where he led a 200-member technology organisation and drove transformative digital initiatives across finance, supply chain, patient engagement, radiology, laboratory operations, and quality systems. Under his leadership, Narayana Health witnessed 30–50% improvements in operational efficiency, reduced patient wait times, and enhanced clinical decision-making through real-time analytics and advanced digital tools. He implemented end-to-end cloud, network, security, and data privacy frameworks, earning recognition as a trusted advisor to the IT Steering Committee and Board of Directors.
Prior to Narayana Health, Kumar played an instrumental role at PwC India, where he built a profitable cloud computing practice, designed strategic digital service offerings, mentored high-performing consulting teams, and supported CXOs across government, healthcare, BFSI, technology, and public sector organisations in building winning digital and cloud transformation strategies. His work included crafting cutting-edge digital roadmaps and developing robust enterprise architectures for large-scale transformation programs.
Kumar’s earlier career at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) laid the foundation for his deep expertise in global IT delivery, infrastructure architecture, and enterprise-scale technology programs. His leadership in virtualization, datacenter transformation, enterprise security, and cross-border technology delivery shaped his strong technical and managerial grounding. His assignments included technical leadership for Fortune 500 clients, multi-country technology deployments, and high-complexity systems engineering.
