Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States, November 2025 – Williams has announced the appointment of Kurt Haberstroh as its new Chief Information Security Officer, marking an important leadership addition to strengthen the company’s cyber resilience and operational technology security. In this role, Kurt will oversee enterprise-wide information security strategies, safeguard critical infrastructure, and guide the organisation’s cybersecurity posture as Williams continues to support energy systems nationwide.
Kurt moves into this pivotal role after serving in Cyber Security and Operational Technology Architecture at Phillips 66, where he spent approximately one and a half years advancing OT cybersecurity capabilities across the organisation. His work reinforced the company’s architecture for secure industrial operations and strengthened system reliability across key midstream functions.
Prior to this, Kurt held a significant leadership role as Director, Operational Technology & Measurement at Phillips 66, where he spent about two and a half years overseeing midstream OT Cyber Security, SCADA, Field Automation, Terminal Automation, and Product Measurement. His leadership ensured secure operations across high-value midstream assets and advanced the company’s integrated OT roadmap.
Before moving into this director-level position, Kurt led SCADA systems as Manager, SCADA at Phillips 66 for over three years, and earlier served as Supervisor, Cyber Security Operations Center, and Supervisor, Identity and Security at the same organization. Across these roles, which spanned nearly a decade, he strengthened Phillips 66’s cybersecurity operations, identity and access management capabilities, vulnerability response frameworks, and strategic IT functions—building deep expertise in safeguarding complex industrial environments.
Kurt’s early professional foundation includes several roles at ConocoPhillips, where he spent over five years in vulnerability management, service management analysis, and strategic staffing. These formative roles gave him hands-on experience in threat identification, incident management, SLA governance, and IT resource planning. He began his career as an IT Analyst Intern at Fort Dodge Animal Health, gaining early exposure to enterprise technology systems and operational processes.
