San Francisco Bay Area, United States, April 2026 — Lars Schmidt has started a new position as Recruiting Leader at Anthropic, where he will lead a team of GTM recruiters supporting the company’s Marketing, Brand, and Communications teams.
In his new role, Lars Schmidt will contribute to Anthropic’s talent strategy as the AI research company continues to scale its teams and advance its work in building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. His appointment brings extensive experience across talent acquisition, recruiting innovation, employer brand, HR leadership, talent strategy, and AI-enabled recruiting transformation.
Before joining Anthropic, Lars served as Vice President, Talent Acquisition & Innovation at Fruitist, where he built a global enterprise-grade talent infrastructure for a high-growth fresh food company operating at the intersection of agriculture and applied AI. His work focused on building recruiting systems designed for speed, precision, and measurable business impact.
Earlier, Lars founded Amplify Talent, where he served as Founder & CEO for more than 11 years. Through Amplify Talent, he partnered with industry-shaping companies to redefine how they attract, engage, and retain top talent.
Lars has also been a Contributing Writer at Fast Company, covering topics at the intersection of talent, brand, recruiting, HR, and innovation. His writing has explored the changing nature of work, AI, recruiting, and modern people practices.
Previously, he served as Senior Director, Talent Acquisition & Innovation at NPR, where he led the rebuilding of the talent acquisition function as part of a broader HR organizational transformation. Earlier roles include Head of Recruiting at Magento, Vice President, Human Resources at Ticketmaster / Live Nation Entertainment, and Senior Director, Global Talent at Ticketmaster Entertainment.
His earlier career also includes recruiting leadership and technical recruiting roles with Intersperse and Pencom Systems, where he built strong foundations in technical recruiting, account management, and talent acquisition execution.
