Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, August 2025 – Leanne Carter has taken on a new role as Head of Talent & Organisational Capability – APAC at Lockheed Martin, bringing with her over two decades of impactful experience across both public and private sectors in Australia. In this APAC leadership position, Leanne is expected to drive strategic initiatives to elevate talent development, organisational effectiveness, and leadership capabilities across the region for the global aerospace and defense leader.
Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Leanne Carter served as Senior Manager People Experience at SA Water for over 2 years, where she led a cross-functional team covering Talent Acquisition, Organisational Development, DE&I, and Learning & Development. She played a pivotal role in embedding a culture of sustainability and future-readiness across the organisation’s workforce.
Before that, she was General Manager Organisational Capability at Opal Group, where for over a year, she was responsible for laying the foundational frameworks for organisational transformation. Her portfolio spanned talent and succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, DEI, and employer branding.
Leanne also spent nearly 5 years at BHP, taking on multiple senior roles. As Manager Learning, Development & Training, she led a $12M budget and over 100 FTEs at Olympic Dam, one of South Australia’s largest employers. She previously served as Manager HR Business Partnership and Principal, Organisational Capability, partnering closely with the executive leadership to champion strategic workforce planning, diversity initiatives, leadership development, and culture change programs.
Earlier in her career, Leanne held transformative roles at the Department of Education and Child Development, Eldercare Inc, and Evolution Mining, where she worked closely with leadership teams to build scalable people strategies. She also contributed to large-scale change initiatives in local government and began her consulting journey at DBM. Her background includes notable experience in leadership coaching, executive development, and organisation-wide learning design.
