Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom, September 2025 – Lindsay Anderson has joined NatureScot as the new Head of People and Organisational Development, bringing with her over two decades of progressive HR and people development experience across Scotland’s public and academic sectors. In this pivotal leadership role, Lindsay will be responsible for shaping and delivering NatureScot’s people strategy, advancing organisational development, and supporting the agency’s mission to care for Scotland’s natural heritage.
Before joining NatureScot, Lindsay served for more than three years at Forestry and Land Scotland, initially as Senior HR Manager (People Management) and later as Head of People Services. She played a critical role in HR transformation initiatives, human resources information systems (HRIS) deployment, and strategic workforce planning, helping enhance people management capability across the organisation.
Earlier, Lindsay worked as Senior Human Resources Partner at The University of Edinburgh, where she led HR projects and strategic business partnering efforts across diverse academic and professional departments. Her work focused on strengthening HRIS, people management, and project delivery in a complex institutional environment.
Prior to that, Lindsay spent nearly five years at Edinburgh Napier University as an HR Partner, and also served as HR Client Partner earlier in her tenure. She contributed to institution-wide HR planning, employee relations, and capability development. She also briefly held the position of Human Resources Manager at the Mental Welfare Commission Scotland, supporting policy, governance, and workforce matters.
Her earlier career includes a seven-year stretch as HR Manager at Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), as well as HR leadership roles at The Pensions Trust, Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, and BMA, where she honed her capabilities in employee relations, operational HR, and stakeholder engagement. Lindsay holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from Strathclyde University, and a PG Certificate in Employment Law from The Robert Gordon University.
