Washington, D.C., United States, October 2025 — Longitude Health, a first-of-its-kind collaborative initiative founded by leading not-for-profit health systems, has announced the appointment of Vishal Agrawal, M.D., as Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Agrawal is a physician, scientist, strategist, and operator with over 25 years of leadership experience spanning the payor, provider, technology, and financial sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer at Humana, and previously held senior roles at The Carlyle Group, Ciox Health, Harris Healthcare Solutions, and McKinsey & Company. In his new role, Dr. Agrawal will guide Longitude Health into its next phase of growth, leveraging his multidisciplinary expertise to expand proven solutions, advance interoperability, and drive systemwide transformation.
“Longitude Health is uniquely positioned to change the trajectory of American health care,” said Pete McCanna, Chair of the Longitude Health Board and CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health. “In its first year, the organization demonstrated the power of collaboration and delivered meaningful results. Dr. Agrawal brings the vision and leadership to carry this momentum forward, guiding the next wave of solutions and expanding the impact of health system collaboration in ways not done before.”
Dr. Agrawal shared his vision for Longitude Health, saying, “Longitude Health represents the opportunity to connect the silos in U.S. health care. By bringing together health systems, payors, providers and technology, we can create scalable solutions that reduce fragmentation, accelerate innovation and deliver measurable impact.”
He further added, “Longitude Health is a do tank, building and scaling real solutions rather than simply ideas. Together we can advance interoperability and data exchange and apply emerging technology to transform care. This is the right moment to partner with our member health systems to build innovations that make health care more effective, efficient and equitable for patients and communities.”
Dr. Agrawal succeeds Interim CEO Brett Moraski, who assumed leadership following the passing of founding CEO Paul Mango in January 2025. “Brett provided invaluable leadership at a pivotal time, ensuring the organization not only stayed on track but gained speed, expanded membership and launched new initiatives,” said McCanna.
With more than 25 years of healthcare services, technology, and acquisition leadership experience, Dr. Agrawal brings a strong record of operational excellence and strategic innovation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry, a master’s degree in molecular biophysics, and a Doctor of Medicine degree, all from Yale University.
