Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, February 2025 – Mahesh Balaji has joined Kannanware as the Chief People & Compliance Officer. With extensive experience across various industries, he will lead people strategies and compliance programs that align with Kannanware’s growth objectives. His role will focus on fostering an inclusive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Before joining Kannanware, Mahesh Balaji served as the Vice President of Human Resources at Toppan Merrill for nearly nine years, where he led HR initiatives for the company, a leader in financial printing and communication solutions. In his tenure, he was instrumental in driving employee engagement and talent development, supporting Toppan Merrill’s strategic business goals.
Mahesh has also held significant leadership roles in HR at WTW and McKinsey & Company, where he contributed to talent acquisition and workforce management strategies in the Asia-Pacific region. His tenure at McKinsey & Company as the Head of HR for VGI helped streamline HR operations across multiple geographies, further honing his expertise in strategic HR management.
Prior to his leadership roles in McKinsey and WTW, Mahesh was responsible for resource management at Deloitte, where he helped align HR functions with the company’s consulting operations. His early career also saw him managing HR functions for Adventity, Ernst & Young, and Zuari Industries, where he laid the foundation for his extensive career in HR.
